Allianz Global Investors, one of the world’s leading active asset managers, announced today the appointment of Matt Christensen as Global Head of Sustainable and Impact Investing. In this role, he will accelerate the growth of Impact Investing as part of the company’s growing private markets platform; lead the continued integration of ESG factors across AllianzGI’s existing range of public markets products, including stewardship activities; and support the development of new SRI products.
Jörg de Vries-Hippen is AllianzGI’s CIO Equity Europe and is responsible for the European Equity portfolio management activities in Frankfurt, Paris and London. Jörg has led the Dividend Investment Style and European Equity Large Cap teams since 2003, and has been Head of Equity Investment in Frankfurt since 2014.
Jörg actively manages European Equity portfolios including European Equity Dividend (since 2009) and Swiss Equity (since 1995), having joined the company in 1992. He graduated with a Master’s degree in business administration from the University of Mannheim, Germany, in 1993 and holds the title of Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) from the Society of Investment Professionals in Germany (DVFA).
Europe can’t compete with the high-flying US tech sector, but perhaps that isn’t a bad thing. Europe is a region with decent growth, strong macroeconomic data and many healthy companies trading at a discount – which makes the market’s worries appear overdone.
