Julie Koo is Head of Distribution, Asia Pacific at Allianz Global Investors. Based in Hong Kong, she leads the development and growth of AllianzGI’s business across the Asia Pacific region and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Julie brings over 30 years of international experience in institutional and wealth management across Asia, Europe, and North America. Before joining AllianzGI, she spent more than eight years at Citi from 2018, holding senior leadership roles across Citi Wealth, most recently as Head of Partnerships & Relationship Management.

Julie began her career at Fidelity Investments in Boston as an Investment Specialist in International and Global Equities. In 2000, she relocated to London to serve as Executive Director for Fidelity’s Institutional Business in EMEA. She subsequently moved to Hong Kong in 2006, where she was appointed Managing Director and Head of Institutional Business for Asia ex-Japan.

Following her tenure at Fidelity, Julie spent five years at HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong in a similar regional leadership role. In 2015, she joined UBS Asset Management as Head of Institutional Distribution for Asia Pacific, while also serving as Head of the firm’s Hong Kong business.

Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College.
